☆ deserving  値する
============================
We can use “deserving” to describe a person, organization, or a cause that you think should be helped in some way. For example, you might donate money to a deserving charity. Or a university might give a scholarship to a deserving student. Or the government could use taxes for more deserving causes.
In Australia at the moment, the government is trying to fix the budget – unfortunately they are planning to take money from deserving areas such as education, and use that money to buy more fighter jets!! Obviously as I teacher I think that is crazy… There are many reasons why education is more deserving than the military in my opinion – but one simple reason (and a little bit of a joke) is that if we don’t educate our kids well, then no one will be smart enough to fly the fighter jets anyway!!
