☆ attentive  注意深い
============================
Someone who is attentive is paying close attention to what is being said or done. Do you know what the opposite word is? We haven’t talked about this in a while, but in English it is often easy to create the opposite of a word by adding a prefix such as “un” (uncomfortable) or “dis” (dislike) or “ir” (irregular) or “in” (incapable).
So, looking at those prefixes, which one do you think goes with “attentive”? The correct answer is “in”, the opposite is “inattentive” but interestingly you might be able to find unattentive in a slang dictionary or web dictionary, but probably not in a formal dictionary. Do you have a paper dictionary? Why not check and see which one is – or maybe both are – in your dictionary.
Bye,
