============================
Another way to say “eclectic” is “diverse”. Eclectic is the more formal word, and can be used in writing or formal conversations. An eclectic collection of objects, ideas, or beliefs is a wide-ranging collection, which comes from many different sources.
One of the main times that we use “eclectic” is when we are talking about music or books. For example, “he has eclectic taste in music.” The ironic thing is that most people think that they have an eclectic taste in music, but they actually just like one or two genres.
How about you? Do you have eclectic taste in music or books or art or anything else?
Bye,
Chris
