Recently my older son has started using a lot more English.
I guess he is learning a lot from his kindergarten teachers
and friends. Before he would only talk to me in Japanese, but
now, if he talks to me in Japanese and I don’t respond, he will
ask me in English, “are you ignoring me?” Or “are you listening
to me?” ha ha! So even though I am busy, I have to stop and talk
to him because he used such great English!

What do you do when someone is talking to you and you’re busy?
Do you ignore them? Tell them to come back later? Or stop what
you are doing and talk to them?

最近、長男が英語をよく話すようになってきました。
幼稚園の先生や友達からたくさん学んでいるのでしょうね。
以前は、日本語でしか話しかけてきませんでしたが、今は日本語で話しかけられて私が答えないでいると英語で“Are you ignoring me? (ちょっと、無視してるの？)”と言われます。
ハハハ！
ですから、忙しい時でも手を止めて彼と向き合って話すのです。
こんなに素晴らしい英語が言えたのですからね！

あなたは、忙しい時に話しかけられたらどうしますか？
無視しますか？
また後で話してとお願いしますか？
それとも、手を止めて話を聞きますか？
