Do you know this word? It’s like that you know the word, “repeat”…
“Recur” is just another way to say “repeat”, however it usually means
that something is happening to you such as a “recurring dream”.

We also talk about themes that recur in our lives and relationships.
Have you ever notice that kind of thing happening in your life? For
example, maybe in your relationships, you always date the same
kind of person. Or in your work, you always have the same kind
of problems with a boss or coworker. In this case, we would say this
was a “recurring theme” not a “repeating theme”.
