☆ accuse 責める

============================

This word can be used in everyday situations such as, “my boss accused
me of leaving work too early each day.” Or “her husband accused her of
having an affair.” (OK, so those are not “everyday situations” I guess! But
it’s just for an example! Ha ha)

Anyway, the word “accuse” is also used by police, when they “accuse”
a person of a crime. When they just want to say that they believe the person
did something wrong, they use “accuse”, however, when they actually
formally accuse someone, then the word used is “charge.” Look at these two
sentences:

The police accused him of drink driving.
He was arrested and charged with drink driving.

Bye,
Chris

“My boss accused me of leaving work too early each day. ”
“Her husband accused her of having an affair. ”

The police accused him of drink driving.

He was arrested and charged with drink driving.
