Do you know any other words for “disappoint”? One common
word is “let down”. For example, instead of saying, “I’m sorry
I disappointed you.” you could say, “I’m sorry I let you down.”
You would use “let down” with a friend in a more casual situation,
whereas you would use “disappoint” in a formal or work situation.

You can also use both these words in a future sense, to talk about
not disappointing someone. Here are some examples:

“Don’t worry, I won’t let you down.”
“You won’t regret hiring me, I won’t disappoint you!”
