This is a good word to have in your vocabulary, so if you’re not already
familiar with this word, then I suggest you try using it. In non-native
English, people might say something like “I didn’t want to make you angry”
which is perfectly OK and understandable, and means the same as
“offend”, however, “offend” is what native speakers would use, so if
you can use it, that’s great!

Here are some examples:

Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you.
I don’t think she intended to offend you.
He’s really offended by what you said last night.
Movies are often censored to cut out any parts that might offend the viewers.
