☆ season 　季節

When I first came to Japan, people asked me how many seasons Australia
has. I was surprised, because I thought, “we have four, of course!” and after
living in Japan, I even thought, “Japan doesn’t have four seasons, it has five,
or six!!” There’s rainy season, and typhoon season, as well!!

Do you consider rainy season and typhoon season to be actual distinct seasons?
Or am I just being silly?! In any case, it seems that the seasons are changing
all around the world, aren’t they? Longer seasons, and less distinct changes
between each one. I wonder what the seasons will be like in the distant future…

初めて日本に来た頃、オーストラリアには季節がいくつあるのか、とよく訊かれました。
当然、季節は4つでしょ！と思ったので、この質問に驚きましたが、日本に住んでからは更に、「日本の季節は4つではなく、5つか6つでは？」と思うようになりました。
梅雨と、台風の季節がありますからね！

あなたは、梅雨と台風の季節もひとつの季節として成り立つと思いますか？
それとも私がおかしいのかな？
どちらにしても、世界中で季節が変わってきていると思いませんか？
季節が長くなり、各季節の節目がはっきりしません。
遠い将来には、季節はどのようになっているのでしょうね…
