☆ neighbor　隣人

When I was young, I knew all my neighbors. When I
came home from school, after dropping off my school
bag, I would go outside to play with the other kids in
my neighborhood. These days, however, it seems like
most people don’t know who their neighbors are.

Is it the same in Japan? Do people know their neighbors
well? Or only on a “greetings” basis? Have things
changed since you were a child? Is it the same whether
you live in the city or the country?

小さい頃は、隣人はみんな知っていました。
学校から帰って鞄を置いたら、外に出て近所のこども達と遊んだものです。
しかし最近では隣人を知らない人が多いようです。
