☆ accept　受け入れる

In English, if you accept a situation, it means that you recognize
that it cannot be changed. Of course, you can use it in the negative,
too:
I cannot accept these terrible working conditions.

However, we don’t usually use “accept” when we talk about a
person in a negative situation. We don’t say, “I cannot accept
him”, instead we use “cannot stand” or “cannot bear”. These
are both very strong words, though, so be careful who you
use them for!

英語で、状況を受け入れる（accept a situation）ということは、現状を変えることは無理だと悟っていることを指します。

もちろん、否定形でも使います：
・I cannot accept these terrible working conditions.
このような劣悪な労働条件は受け入れることが出来ない。

しかし、人についての否定は、通常「accept」は使いません。
“I cannot accept him”とは言わず、“cannot stand”や、“cannot bear”を使います。
ただし、これらはきつい言葉なので、使う時には気を付けて下さいね。
