Which is better, to buy quality items that are expensive, but last
for a long time, or to buy cheaper items of lower quality and replace
them?

In many success books, the authors say that you should buy quality
clothes, furniture and so on, because they last longer and you feel
better wearing and using them, which helps you have a high self-esteem.
I thought this was a good idea, but what if you cannot afford high quality?
Just recently I heard a better solution: Buy the best quality that *you* can
afford.

That seems more reasonable, don’t you think?

上質の物で、高価だけれども長持ちをするものと、チープで質もあまりよくないものをどんどん買い替えていくのと行くのと、どちらが良いでしょう？
