☆ stopover 途中下車

When I was 11 my father was invited to teach at UCLA　for
six months. On the flight to LA we had a stopover in
Hawaii. It was the first time I’d been on an international
flight, and of course the first time I’d been to Hawaii.

I was so excited to see Hawaii! Unfortunately, even though
we had 11 hours to wait, we weren’t allowed to leave the
airport!! So my first experience of Hawaii was sleeping
all day in the waiting lounge… so disappointing!

Have you ever had a stopover somewhere? Where was it?
What did you do during this time?

私が１１歳の時、父がUCLAで６ヶ月間の講師を依頼されました。
ロサンゼルスまでの飛行機は、ハワイで途中下車（経由）でした。
私にとっての初めての国際線で、もちろんハワイも初めてでした。

ハワイでの途中下車（経由）はとても楽しみでした。
しかし残念ながら、待ち時間は１１時間だったのにも関わらず、空港から出ることは認められていませんでした。
ですから初めてのハワイの経験は、待合ラウンジで一日中寝ていました。
とてもガッカリ!
