☆ overweight 太りすぎの

As I said in a previous email, when I go home to
Australia for a holiday, I am always surprised at
how many overweight people there are.

It’s strange though because the number of overweight
people hasn’t actually increased by much. What has
changed is my perspective of what is “normal weight”.

What do you think about the situation in Japan, are
people becoming more overweight? Why or why not?

先日のメールにも書きましたが、休暇でオーストラリアに帰国すると、太りすぎの人が多く、いつも驚きます。

でもおかしいですよね。実際、太りすぎの人たちの数はそんなに変わっていないのです。
変わったのは、私の何が「普通の体重」か、という見方です。

日本の状況はどうなっていると思いますか？
太りすぎの人は増えていますか?
なぜ増えている、もしくは増えていないのでしょうか?
