A specialist refers to an expert in a profession.
We can add “ist” to some words and it creates a
word that means “someone who does that thing.”

Here are some examples:

Specialist – someone doing some particular skill
Violinist – someone who plays a violin.
Artist – someone who creates art.
Idealist – someone who has believes in ideals.
Journalist – someone who writes in a journal (a writer
for a newspaper).
Receptionist – someone who works in the reception.
Tourist – someone traveling, someone on a tour.
