Have you ever donated clothes in Japan? In Australia,
it is very easy – you just take your washed, clean clothes
to the local supermarket and there is a big metal container
for you to donate your unwanted clothes.

The box belongs to the Salvation Army, and they give the
clothes to homeless people in the city. Sometimes they
sell the clothes in their store and the profits are used
to help the homeless.

Recently I have heard there is a Salvation Army in Suginami-ku,
but they only accept clean (in other words, new) clothes
it seems.　What do you do with your clean unwanted clothes?

必要のない洋服を寄付したことがありますか?　
オーストラリアでは、とても簡単です。
洗濯が済んだ清潔な洋服を、近くのスーパーに持っていくだけです。
必要がなくなった寄付をする洋服のために、大きな金属のコンテナが置いてあるのです。

そのコンテナは救世軍のものです。
寄付された洋服は、市内のホームレスの人たちに渡ります。
または、救世軍が経営する小売店で売り、そのお金はホームレスの人たちを助けるために使われます。

最近、東京の杉並区に救世軍が経営する小売店があると聞きましたが、清潔な（つまり、新しい）洋服しか受け取ってくれません。
みなさんは、清潔な古着はどうしていますか？
