☆ adjust 慣れる

I came to Japan for the first time when I
was 16 years old. It was just for 6 weeks,
for a home-stay during my school summer holidays.

When I arrived it was winter, and there was
snow! It was cold, the food was different,
there was no English anywhere… And I had to
go to school!! It took a little while to adjust
to being in Japan!!

Have you ever been in a situation where it
took a long time to adjust?　What was it?

私が初めて来日したのは１６歳でした。
学校の夏休み、６週間くらいのホームステイでした。

到着した時期は冬で、雪もありました。
寒かったし、食べ物も違ったし、英語で書かれたものはどこにもありません。
しかも、学校に行かなくてはいけません！
日本に慣れるまで少しばかり時間がかかりました！
