Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough time? Or that you are doing things that you don’t enjoy doing, and wish you had enough time to do the things you really want to do? A life coach in the US called Martha Beck, has a great solution for this. She calls it the “Three B’s” which stands for Bag It, Barter It, or Better it.

Bag It – This means that you just stop doing that thing you don’t want to do. In other words, toss it in the “garbage bag”.

Barter It – What if you have to do it, and can’t bag it? Well then, can you barter it? Is it a job or chore that you can barter or trade or swap with someone else at your work (or home)? For example, if you don’t like doing the grocery shopping, you can’t Bag It, because you need food to live, right? So, can someone else in your family do it? And in return you’ll do something for them that they don’t like doing, such as ironing or cleaning.

Better It – So, if you can’t Bag It or Barter It, then you can probably Better It! In the grocery shopping example above, what if you’re the only person who can do it? Then you can Better It, by using online shopping for example? Or by changing the time or place that you shop at?

Have you ever heard of this Bag, Barter, Better idea? What do you think about it? Can you use it in your life to create more time for the things you love to do?

Bye,

Chris
