You might already know this word, but just in case, when you “express an idea” or “express yourself” you show what you think or feel. You can express something in writing or speaking, or even with body language. For example:
He expressed concern about the changes to the project plan.
She expresses herself easily in English.
Children can sometimes express themselves better with actions rather than words.
His face expressed his disapproval.
Although this is not a formal word and it is used in every day conversation, there are other words that are more commonly used. Do you know any other words you can use instead of “express”? How about state, say, declare, communicate, put into words. What others do you know?
