A trusting person believes that people are honest and sincere and do not intend to harm them. I would think that being a trusting person is a good trait, but something you hear quite often is, “Perhaps I was too trusting.” In other words, the person was trusting and believed that the other person was good and honest, but in the end they weren’t and so this sentence is filled with the regret of making the mistake of trusting that person.
Have you ever been too trusting? I have! And even now, I still feel regret about the situation even though it was probably more than 10 years ago! Actually it was more than one situation… hmmm, maybe I am too trusting!! The first time someone took my money and didn’t give what they’d promised in return. The second time, I shared my business ideas with another English school and they copied it immediately, it was a bit of a shock, but a good learning experience!
