☆ handshake 握手
============================
In western culture, the handshake is a very important part of body language. In my workshops I teach about different kinds of handshakes. Some people have a handshake that is too weak – we call this one the dead fish! It doesn’t feel like you are shaking hands, it feels like someone has given you a dead fish to hold!!
For people interviewing for a job, a good handshake is a crucial part of the interview. In fact, it is often said that although a good handshake won’t guarantee that you get the job, a bad handshake will definitely lower your chances of getting the job. So if you’re in a situation where you’ll need to shake hands with someone of another culture, it’s a good idea to practice first!
Here’s a link to an article about the various different kinds of handshakes, and it even includes a picture of a dead fish handshake. 🙂
