☆ sanity 正気
============================
Your sanity is your ability to think and behave normally. In English we talk about “preserving one’s sanity” by doing something. For example, if you live in a noisy neighborhood, you might move to a quieter suburb to preserve (keep) your sanity. If your boss drives you crazy, you might change jobs to preserve your sanity.
We also talk about “sanity” using the word “marbles”. Marbles are small glass balls that kids play games with… do kids play with these in Japan? Anyway, when you have “all your marbles” then you have your sanity, however, when we say that someone “has lost their marbles” we mean that they have lost their sanity! Do you have a similar saying in Japanese?
Bye,
Chris
