When you “limit” something you prevent it from becoming bigger than a set amount. For example, “The government tried to limit unemployment to 4.7%” You can also limit yourself to something the number of things you have or do is reduce. For example, “I’m going to limit myself to two glasses of wine each week.”
Based on these definitions and sentence examples, can you imagine words that have a similar meaning? Here are some you might know:

curb
restrain
