☆ reluctance  不本意
============================
Today’s word is more often used in its adjective form (reluctant) however, it is useful to know how to use it as a noun too. If you are reluctant to do something, then you are not keen or willing to do it. And reluctance is the feeling of being reluctant. When we use “reluctance” (and reluctant) we usually use it with the dictionary form of a verb, in other words, “to do”. Here are some sentences showing the adjective and noun form.
The government is showing reluctance to increase benefits to pensioners.
The government is reluctant to increase benefits to pensioners.
We need to overcome this reluctance to talk openly.
We need to be less reluctant to talk openly.
There was reluctance (from the company owners) to accept ideas from outside the company.
They (i.e. the company owners) were reluctant to accept ideas from outside the company.
