☆ cousin　いとこ

Do you have many cousins? I was born in England, so were my parents so I have cousins there (my uncle’s family). But I’ve never actually met them! I was lucky enough to meet my uncle before he died about 10 years ago, but I never met his children (my cousins) as they were living quite far from my aunty and uncle at the time.
I once saw a Facebook update saying, “cousins are usually the first friends we have as children.” Since I grew up in Australia, and have never met mine, obviously this isn’t true for me! How about you? Do you have many cousins? Were they your first friends? Or like me, do you have cousins that you have never met?
