I think there are many tranquil places in Japan. In particular, the shrines
and temples are usually very peaceful and tranquil. As you know, I’m living
in Ishigaki at the moment, and the shrines here are very different. Because
of all the typhoons they are made of concrete and are very small and not
colorful. In fact, although they are silent, I don’t find them very tranquil or
relaxing at all!

What is the most tranquil place for you? Is it a temple or shrine? A park? Or
maybe even inside your own home? (If so, lucky you!)

日本には穏やかな場所が多くありますね。
具体的には、神社やお寺などは、平和で穏やかです。
ご存知のように、今私は石垣島に住んでいますが、こちらの神社は今まで私が知っている神社とは大きく異なります。
台風が多いので、コンクリート製でとても小さく、色はあまり使われていません。
とても静かですが、あまり穏やかでリラックスできる場所には感じられません…
