Of course you can use today’s word for “traveling”,
as in, “I arrived in Tokyo yesterday.”
However as you know this month’s topic is about
making your life a journey. So I wanted to tell
you about another usage of this word, which means
you have become successful.
“I’ve made it” or “I have arrived” mean
that you have reached success. A big house,
a luxury car are signs that you “have arrived”
in western culture. What about in Japan？

今日の単語はもちろん旅行をするときに使えますね。
例えば、「I arrived in Tokyo yesterday（昨日、東京に到着しました）」。

でも今月のトピックは「人生を旅にする」ですね。
ですから、今日の単語の違う使い方を話したいと思います。
「arrive」は「成功する」という意味にも使います。

「I’ve made it（やったね！）」や「I’ve have arrived(成功した！)」は成功したという意味で使います。
西洋文化では大きい家や高級車は「have arrived(成功した)」成功のしるしです。
