Today’s word is “funny”, in English we use this word in two ways.

One to mean that something makesus laugh,
for example: “He always tells funny jokes,
I always laugh a lot when I am with him.”

Today’s usage is the second way,
which has the meaning of “strange”:
“He always tells funny jokes,
I never really laugh much when I am with him.”

Completely different, right?

（彼はいつもおかしな冗談を言うんですよ。一緒にいるとあまり楽しくない

です。）

ぜんぜん違いますね！２０１１年は  “fun” ＝楽しい、と

“funny” ＝面白い年になりますように！
