Have you heard of Mary Oliver? She is an American poet, and has published many books of poems, that I have only just discovered. She has one question about how we choose to “dedicate” our lives that she asks in this way:
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” Have you ever thought of your life as being wild and precious? My friend introduced me to this quote a year ago, and it is one that I think about from time to time when I lose focus on my goals.
It’s a good reminder, don’t you think? So to use today’s word, we could ask the same question more simply, “What are you dedicated to doing in this lifetime?”
