Today’s Word: underrated

☆  underrated  過小評価された

============================

Well, I guess it is easy to guess what today’s word means – if you read yesterday’s email 🙂

Underrated is the opposite of overrated, and it means that you do not recognized how clever, important or significant someone or something is. For example, in the past, companies would tend to underrate women and not give them jobs, even though they had the right skills. This still happens, but hopefully it is becoming less common!

And, in love, you might underrate someone you know and think they are not a good match for you, but if you just give them a chance, it can turn out to be a great relationship. Have you ever underrated someone you just met? Did you change your mind about them later when you got to know them better?

Bye,

Chris
